For me the song represents a guy trying hard to get the relationship going with a beautiful girl in a toxic even psicopatic way "lied to get to your apartment" but for some reason Her male friends are trying hard to make her fall in love with them too even ignoring the existance of the singer "Children trying hard not to realize i was sitting right behind you". The singer tries to convince this girl that he is not the one who is the Bad guy in order for him to make her fall in love with him. "Dear cant you see is them is not me". "If i was like them all pissed in this bar" that sentence represents the disgust for her friends. In the end he even says that he is trying hard to get along with them (Which is not true) "Cant you see Im trying ? I dont even like it". The Conclusion is that sometimes SOME Men do that... We compete to get what we thing is the love of our lives, the girl that we think will make us happy but we do it in a narcissistic and manipulative way. "Is this it" means that he doesnt tolerate her male friends and he just want to get through meeting them something like "Are this really your friends?" But what do you think? this is just a thought and Im not trying to be sexist or something. This is just my view of the song in particular :)
