As a 17 stan, with that mamy members some will always end up at the back, but I like how they play around with their choreography so that everyone keeps getting rotated to the front

A lot of the times SKZ do it too, most of the times being Bang Chan at the back; you can see it a lot on his fancams. But I guess that’s the downside of even numbers in the group. I don’t see a problem as long as the person in the back gets to be the centre too

There's definitely always better choreo but a comment I read somewhere else noted that it works to their benefit to be able to adjust and perform regardless of injuries or illness and I think that’s a valid point.

One technique they do is the person they put singing and is their turn they put intne centre and the person who will go on after them is at the back and then gets revealed it's really smart and alot of times in concerts create hype like how BLACKPINK does it .

Especially with Katseyes songs being SO SHORT. being in the back for 25 seconds is already a big chunk of the song.

i happen to have a very specific pet peeve for this. both with member in back choreo and with even numbered groups (because of formations still). like to the point where it can make it hard for me to enjoy groups that have this happening. (i think it grinds my gears cus im on the spectrum & can have a hard time with asymmetry)

As someone who danced ballet till I was 18 years old, sometimes you just get stuck in the back 😢. I understand the fans though. The equivalence would be the parents who spent all this money to see their kid dancing and you saw them for 30 seconds.

There is a trend with 6 members groups these days I don't get why

I really think its the strategy to make people involve in the group because its a company that's currently the biggest kpop agency /label and they don't know how to put members in a line where every one is visible? They could have made v under side and put the hidden member in the middle which means every one will be visible or make the center one sit and do the choreo and other 5 will do it while standing its so simple

I simply think Manon at that time was struggling more on the dance routine you could see it when they were all aligned I think she has still a road to improvement to be as fluid than the rest and there is no shame from that, and maybe she asked herself to be put there also idk like I don't think they had like a huge amount of time for prepare either and sometimes you can do the same fucking dance 8 hours a day after 6 months it just doesn't clock to you (I speak by experience there lol) at the end of the day it looks weird but kinda makes sense in term of dance formation and we are really far from some group where the girl is in the back and just say "wow" and disappear again from our sight lol.

honestly, choreographers should take notes from stayc and gfriend!! even with aespa where the one in the back has their arms up or making those up and down moves like blackpink hylt would do

I find it weird that some fans will cyber bully the choreographers for this instead of taking it out on their company who most likely has final say over the chreo selection

Coming from a boy group stan, 25 seconds really isn't something you should worry about. It's 25 seconds, that's nothing... I sometimes have to search up fancams just to see how one of my members dances a certain part. And then they're 8 members. It's only okay if the members at the back also gets center.

There are so many cool formations you can do with a 6 member group. If you're gonna have someone in the back they need to rotate.

I think K-Pop choreos should just be more creative. I know a non-Korean girl group with 8 members and their formations are always really dynamic with one member rarely being hidden at the back and with the singing member not always being at the center.

A member being behind another will happen sometimes even with odd numbered groups, and that's okay, sometimes that makes the formations more dynamic, but it's the fsct they KEPT putting members in the back during the chorus for long periods of time. Plus it so happened to be a particular member more than others. Maybe western choreography directors just aren't as used to working with 6+ membered groups but this got much better with Touch so they learned?
