My son showed me a YouTube channel called The Water Machine. I purchased it and my son helped me put it together. I am now putting my tap water into my Water Machine. It has a 3 gallon tank and uses 2 filters. It uses gravity of the water with the filters. According to the directions if you use 3 gallons of water per day the filters should last 5 years. My son gifted me 2 additional filters, so maybe we can get 10 years out of it. I have been using it for drinking, cooking and watering the cats. My son helped me locate my well and is putting a hand pump on it for my use. He says I can use my well water and filter it through my water machine. This will be helpful in the event that I am not able to get City water into the house. I stopped buying water bottles.

Helpful dental tips to prevent cavities(prevent dental visits) : 1. Do not rinse after brushing your teeth, just spit out the access. This allows for a soapy effect as the bubbles from the toothpaste gets chance to really go and lie in between the teeth.
2. Rinse your mouth with water after EVERY meal or when drinking anything other than water. This neutralizes the ph levels in the mouth preventing the acidic effect of the foods or liquids.
3. Consume nothing after your teeth are already brushed at night. If you do, make sure to brush again. For the saliva levels reduce almost completely at night(since you don't swallow while sleeping). Saliva going between the teeth is very healthy for it. The less saliva an individual produces, the more cavities they have.

This topic so hit home for me. Wearing clothes more then once unless they are really dirty … not buying valentines decorations because u are still decluttering and want to keep going … cooking from scratch and in the morning instead of at dinner time and being rushed . … trying to use up everything In your pantry … I used to stock up on ALOT of extra cleaning products which I no longer do… it takes up too much of my storage space and takes me far too long to go through them and I clean my house daily . But your favorite tip I got a chuckle out of was putting your foot in the wastebasket and crushing your own trash ! When my dad was alive he used to do the same thing !😊 thanks for the awesome tips as always and the great memory Dawn ! U are truly a beautiful human being inside and out !❤️

I’m impressed with your standing in the trash Can to compact it.. That’s a new one for me. I never buy ink pens, rather whenever I’m in a business I always ask if they have pens advertising their businesses. And envelopes, I use those return envelopes from bills etc, and I unfold them so that the writing is inside and glue it back together with the blank side showing!! Also, I always have a small gift ready. I buy memo pads on sale, wrap them and stick an ink pen thru the bow.. I kept them in the trunk of my car along with greeting cards I made, always am ready for gift giving. I also bought small plants in the .99 cent store, brought them home, cared for them and when necessary, I repotted them in a pretty pot to give away or bring to the hospital when visiting a friend. These are just a few of my frugal fixes! Stay safe!!! 🎯🙏⚓️

I rearrange my items in the house...I will switch lamps from one room to another, candles from one table to another, repurpose book shelves to hold other items etc. I also plan my meals around my pantry and freezer/ fridge, make sure to use fresh product first. I am looking into older recipies my mother made ...she knew how to stretch a dollar.

I love to knit, crochet, and sew and it gets expensive to buy materials. I found a little consignment shop in our town and I have a commission-free shelf for $10 per month. Last month I sold almost $300 worth of hand made goods. I’m not making a lot of money, but it pays for my hobby.

I did not know about the toothpaste trick. I will definitely do that. I always add water to the bottle of soap shampoo dish washing detergent etc, there is plenty of product left before using a new one. Also tubes of hand lotions cut be cut open to get all the lotion that is left!!! Love you money mom

All of the little things add up, so I keep doing the little things that we all talk about. Currently working on getting used to 1/2 of the food on the plate, and no snacking. That is my goal. It continues to be a work in progress - not as much to save money, but to retrain my eyes to know what is "enough, " and safeguard my health. Certainly the food bill is less!

Before you recycle paper, cut off blank areas and use them as note paper and book marks.
And don't waste money buying Post-Its!
You can use these bits of paper for that sort of thing...
Love your channel !!

When we bought our house, the former owner did not have a garbage disposal in the kitchen. He would use those mesh sink strainers that would collect the small particles in the sink from going down the drain. The plumber that camera-inspected our sewer line said that it was really clean and that most people have plumbing problems in the kitchen because of their garbage disposal (putting too much stuff down the drain). He recommended that we continue doing what the former owner did with the mesh sink strainers. We have and it seems to be serving us well so far.

I wear Christmas stuff year round. 😆 I started cooking in the morning too and it’s way more fun than doing it when I’m exhausted at night.

Great share, Dawn. I work from home too, so I’m pretty casual. I generally only wear “nice” clothes to church and such. 🤣

We use Scott too and I don't buy holiday decor either cuz I don't like storing it. We make our own laundry soap and fabric softener. We don't have a microwave or a dishwasher or central heat and air.

Great tips! Thanks. One thing I discovered years ago is half the dishwasher soap works just fine. I also watch Prepper Princess and started watering down the laundry soap. That works just as well too, also body soap and shampoo. All that saves money and is easier on your pipes. I am working on less food waste with meal planning and shopping lists.

I do many things, but one thing I do everyday is heat up my water for tea, hot chocolate, etc. I then put that hot water in a thermos. I unplug my electric tea pot from the wall and do not use it multiple times throughout the day. I only use it one time. I then take the hot water from my thermos to use for tea, hot chocolate, etc. The thermos I use has a glass inside, so my hot water stays hot until the next day. I also use my thermos to bring on road trips or will fill it if a storm is coming and we might lose power. A thermos is very important and every kitchen should have a couple in my opinion.

You can also do this with coffee. Make a pot of coffee one time and pour it in a thermos. Instead of using a Keurig and turning it on and off all day, make an old fashioned pot of coffee and put it in a thermos. This way small appliances are not running all day and getting turned off and on constantly. It saves the small appliances and your electric bill a little bit.

Unless they are really nasty, I will wash/rinse aluminum foil and zip-lock bags. I reuse them several times. I bought micro-fiber cloths from the automotive department at Walmart. They were 10 for $5. I use those for spills and cleaning. No need for paper towels.
