Just saying, the alienware x51 with maxed out specs is very good for this game. I got this PC for christmas and it has done me amazing with planetside 2. I can play with everything maxed out at 50-60 fps and recording at 30-40

Fantastic tutorial. I would advise beginners to immediately join an Outfit, throw yourself in at the deep-end and hope for the best. You'll learn most of it as you go along.

If you don't know how to do this on PC, click O in-game, pick and outfit and jump on the mic. Best of luck.

Fantastic game...and for those wondering if "can I run this with... ", the answer is: anything short of a mid range graphics card will struggle to run this even at low settings at 30fps. Reason for this is not the graphics or sfx, but the insane amount of action that tends to happen commonly in planetside (30-100 players on screen at any moment).

I've got an Asus RoG gaming laptop with an nvidia GTX 860m which barely runs this game in low-mid settings at 35-100fps. Why such a huge frame gap you ask? It's because sometimes you have nothing going on, and sometimes you have about 20 explosions happening all at once every second of the game because of how many players are fighting at once. So yeah, if my card struggles with this, imagine anything lower than mid range.

Also, Intel graphics 4400 can barely run this at 30fps on low, dipping under 15fps in action scenes.

Ive been running this in 1080 with Planetside's render quality and field of view in maximum settings, as well as the the nvidia GPU fan settings in power saving mode over full capacity (2500rpm vs 25000rpm). Tweaking these settings, along with my graphics card's performance over quality settings improved everything by a huge margin, now being able to play in medium-high settings without much of an issue, even on a mid range graphics card like the 860m. Intel HD graphics with the new settings also performs better at a constant 30fps, however, be sure you won't play at anything over 720p in terms of resolution if you wish to achieve a playable frame rate for this game with decent settings.

I'm a Terran soldier so this constant in game view from the VS side and attacks on the TR bases made me both agrovated and confused.
