The crazy thing is civilization is coming full circle with Quantum Mechanics giving new credence to our ancient animistic beliefs. Reality literally changes from a wave to a particle based on observation which is a pretty crazy concept.

Everything makes more sense if you understand them from an animistic point of view :)

Thank you for doing your best to show what is actually there.

I've felt this all my life, discovering this fact made me respect my ancestors and nature around me so much more, it gives meaning and identity, things that lacks (intentionally imo) in this cold number and capitol letter bureaucracy stuff, which is not be ignored either, it got its own 'vesen' (being) too, but its not good. Ignoring it is stupid, its gonna bite you. Thank you again, even tho there were no surprises here, i enjoy watching your videos =)

After several years, my walking staff started developing a personality. It seem to sulk if we haven't been out for a while but will be ok if left in the window to get sun. There is a life energy in everything and, given time, it will form patterns of life.

Such an awesome video. Great summary of animism. The Norse were wise, connected.

The commonalities between American Native peoples & the Norse are profound. Similar beliefs regarding Animism, the Creation stories, the right relationships between people & the earth, the pantheon of deities, & the reverence for tribe over that of the individual. This is one of the best videos about this topic -- thank you for making this.

This makes the concept of viewing the gods as our ancestors make so much fucking sense.

They believed that because *we came from the earth, we are made of the earth, and return to the earth*. Combine this with the idea that the Yggdrasil is actually a representation of the human spiritual and physical body, and I think we’re really getting somewhere in a practical way.

Thanks for all the great research and recommendations you do and make.

I've been an animist my whole life, but I only discovered the term for my beliefs a few years ago. Now I'm diving into Norse mythology since a lot of my ancestors came from Scandinavian countries. Love your channel!

Some rocks clearly feel alive.
Some lakes, rivers feel differently alive than others.
Maybe because the life in them connects more with us than others?
Some places make us feel at home, others we just want to get away from, with no tangible reason. It's just a feeling, a vibe, the spirit of the place welcoming us or telling us to leave.

My cars and homes have always had names.
Gyllenbuste, Rimfaxe, Hugin, Munin; Villa Drakkar, Ty Thor, Lundheim .. and I plan on continuing that.

Always late to the party.. but just want to say this is spot on for me. Also downloaded the digital chart (as I try to decide if I want the light or dark banner). I have had my translation project (w/ the help of Maria Kvilhaug) on hold for a bit, so this is awesome! Så flott!! 🖤
