Something I'd love to come across for for years is merch stuff sold as prints.
Like you buy the print as a pdf, and you can print it out on a shirt you already own (or get a plain one at the secondhand store), and you have merch without it having to have traveled all over the world or wasted extra stuff on.

I've seen some really cute designs on Etsy, but it's from across the world and I can't buy it in good conscience knowing it has to travel all over the world just because I find it cute and I just wished I could just buy the print as a pdf so I could print it at a local print shop.

I'm a bit late, but about to buy 2 pouches (£17 = $33AUD so just waiting till chrissy stuff is done) - Congrats Leena 🌻 I just wanted to throw a couple suggestions out there quickly while they're top of mind 🌈
1) Inspired by DFTBA/vlog brothers stuff, have you thought about maybe doing a mystery patch bundle? Maybe selling 2 or 3 patches for like £1 off or something? There's something kind of fun about giving the decision making power to you instead of picking for ourselves haha (plus everyone loves feeling like they've got a bargain, & it might be useful for you if you've got a surplus of certain patches).
2) Have you considered maybe selling some kind of material we can use for crafting etc? Like a twine/thread/rope/cord to do our own macrame or jewellery making/miscellaneous craft etc? Or even selling stones/rocks, or fabric squares or something?
3) Or even maybe like a mystery tote bag made with scraps of your leftover fabric?
PS. Just wanted to say, thanks for always shipping to Australia ❤ Grateful you did this for your book, & it seems to be the same for your patches 🌻

Lastly... Again, I'm a bit late to the game (had a bit of a youtube detox, haven't been on in a while), does the podcast happen to be available here on youtube as well? Even just in audio form (no visual)?

fabulous idea. the merch world is one of the first places that needs radical change and is on the more simple side to solve, if people put a little brain power towards the project instead of treating it as a cold cash grab. will definitely be keeping this in mind for my own creative business

I follow a few thrifters & upcyclers (is that the correct verbage?) who make merch with recycled materials. One put their catch phrase/tag line embroidery on secondhand jumpers, they were cute - however I did not buy one as the YouTuber was US based. 💚
