Whitewater Presents: ¡Ay Chihuahua!

Expedition kayakers Erik Boomer & Ben Stooksberry take on the mile deep Barranca Candameña in the Wild West of Chihuahua, Mexico. At the put-in with heavy rain filling the river, the team weighs the danger of flash flood and the specter of narcos, against their goal to be the first to descend one of the most spectacular canyon's on earth by kayak.

I’m from chihuahua, I’m glad that there’s people realizing all the adventure tourism can be done in all that sierra. And of course that not all is bad guys and narco stop believing all that shit, there is space for this kind of tourism.

What an incredible place and expedition.
It's like a scene from Jurrasic Park. I could visualise dinosaurs or King Kong roaming through there.

Great job boys! Bravo! And nice edit of the short film. Glad you made it through both Concheño and Candameña. Glad my guidebook was useful. Seems like a tough hike out of Candameña - you didn't go all the way to the Concheño confluence where there's road access?
