Reeves is right, we DID know, but not until we were around 59. Obviously some already retired to look after elderly relatives then were horrified that they wouldn’t get their state pension then.

Also, in the Backto60 appeal at the High Court, the DWP admitted they hadn’t sent letters to most of us because they thought we wouldn’t bother to read them. How contemptuous is that!

The Wasps women was led by a particular group of women born in the 50s. EG. Historic low wages. Historic reduced state pension.Historic hard physical jobs, many including lowpaid or no paid cariing roles.These women are probably living on the smallest state pension payments.
Obviously, women getting private pensions born in the 50s would not be so impacted.
