I agree I thought he would unlock more with Jefferson Theilen and Cook. Still, from an individual player perspective to come in mid-season and immediately be defense's number 2 priority after Jefferson is game changing. I'm thinking particularly about KJ Osborn. Does he have as much success without TJ drawing so much attention?

As a Vikings fan i always hoped we would get a sick qb like hurts or mahomes but maybe i could be convinced cousins throwing to my 3 sons (jefferson addison hockensen) will be pretty deadly.

Hockenson is slight below mediocre blocker, which isnt really his game. As a receiver he catches the open ball and has a good route tree. Problem is he doesnt move the chains and isnt physical. Rarely brings in a trully contested catch. And definitely has no Yac ability. Id consider him a WR3 or WR2 type guy. Like id rather have hock then Claypool.

Id say lions got the better end of the deal but vikings still came away with a solid player at a position of need. They definitely over payed for a TE that needs a record contract, but its not a horrible over pay.

Hockenson isnt a superstar, but hes a really good role player. The offense wont flow through him, but hes a good cog for the team.

Hock didn’t want to be in Detroit so it was a win win. He also wants a huge pay day, given the Vikings cap situation I’d be surprised if they pay him top te money w/ Kirk n jj coming due soon.

As a Lions fan I’m glad we traded him, got good value and he isn’t worth what he’s going to get paid. I am so stoked we drafted laporta with one of those picks. He was my favorite tight end from this class and I believe he’s going to be better than hock.
