Scotty passed away at 96 a little over a week ago. He was a super nice guy . He and his wife Lois were great down to earth folks. He kept up doing bartending jobs until he was 93 or 94. Interesting character.

This guy has my respect because he lived the way he wanted to and helped others do the same.

I greeted him one afternoon, at the V.A. Wadsworth Hospital in Westwood. He was very pleasant and seemed quite alert. Semper Fi Brother...!

Saw this movie as a screener. I went in with an impression of what it would be like and left with very different perceptions. If you haven't seen it, your opinion of it isn't relevant- go see it, and then express your thoughts. You might be surprised.

There are also many film and cinema history books that discussed many of these going-ons that were occurring since before the studio systems even materialized. The rumors about Hepburn, Grant, etc. had been milling around for decades. Might be fun to start opening these books up and reintroducing ourselves to the beginnings of stars and the Hollywood system.

The book was fantastic, I couldn’t put it down. Never knew there was a movie where can I locate it? Would love to have met Scotty he seems like he was just full of life and love . He’s flying high, still smiling and laughing down on us.
Thanks, Scotty.

I read his book, and it was fascinating! It certainly cleared up some uncertainties that I had, mainly regarding King Edward and his abdication to marry Wallis Simpson! Just one revelation, but there are many more! Great read!

I read this book a few years ago. It's an ironic exposure to a reality that few of us will ever experience and also interesting that Scotty did this with such openness and joy, which seems strange, but if you've had to hide some aspect of your life, like most gay men do, you kind of get it.

This guy was total free spirit. Even when he was molested, he said he was ok with it, he could find ways to profit. Not as a full time hooker, but he was a good looking man, and he used looks to advantage. He waited till all were dead, but he stayed quiet even when they were alive, he could have black mailed but he didnt. What an unusual life.

There is no question that this kind of thing went on in Hollywood. However, I really wonder how accurate this documentary is. There are an awful lot of names and pictures of famous people being thrown around and not a whole lot of evidence.

I actually met him in Vancouver several times before he died. My wife and I met him at a gay couple's penthouse in the west end in Vancouver..Scotty was their neighbour. My wife and I really hit it off with him ! A very funny, smart kind person, filled with great stories. I ended up meeting him several years earlier at my docs office. He was in very bad shape mentally due to his excessive drinking.
I offered to take him to the halfway house he was going to. On the way over there it became painfully obvious that he had developed a life ending brian disease that caused his brain's tissue to turn into liquid. Its a disease common in sheep and alcoholics .He dies within a few months if I recall. NIce man

One of the first lines of this video says people were very invested in the establishment view of movie star history. And apparently, they still are. At least according to some of these comments. Honestly, I've heard lots of these stories. Rock Hudson was known to drive up and down Hollywood Bvd. looking for cute boys. Rock didn't get AIDS from a blood transfusion. I don't understand why this upsets people so much? Sex has always been a popular activity, how do think we have 7 billion people on this planet? This puritan attitude about sex and pleasure is why we're in the mess we're in. If you want to believe all of old Hollywood was chaste and pure fine, but you're lying to yourself.

This is definitely one of the most fascinating documentaries I've ever seen. He has so much life in him and he lived so much. His warmth, humanity and drive a very inspiring. Every gay person should see this film. 🇺🇸🏳️‍🌈🎬💜⏳
