In 1993 Senna could not go to Williams not because the two seats were taken. But because Prost was the number one driver and he had a veto on Senna to come at Williams for 1993. Seeing their rivalry and what happened at McLaren in 1989 it's understandable.
What I am glad is that these two great champions did manage to become friendly at the beginning of 1994 when Prost retired. Remember the message from Senna to Prost on his inboard lap. "First of all hello to my dear friend Alain, I miss you Alain"

He was paid 1m a race but he didn't ever refuse to take part in a race if he was not paid beforehand. He just had a deal with Ron Dennis that Sennas fee was 1m per race. Not that he must be paid in full before each race.

Another side note, during that 1993 season, McLaren tested Lamborghini engines for Senna and Hakinen to try out... Senna was impressed and wanted the engine to be used, but Ron Dennis chose Peugeot engines thus Senna moved to Williams that fateful 1994 season... had Ron Dennis listened to Senna and got those Lambo engines for '94 season, who knows what the year and the future went 30 years ago...
