I bought a consular from ultrasabers myself about 6 years ago and it still works like a charm. It's not always about better quality as long as you're happy getting exactly what you want.

I can speak on the Ultrasabers longevity. Had my bellicose with obsidian sound for 5 years now and no issues whatsoever. It sat a whole year without being turned on and came right back to life. It's been dueled with heavily throughout the years as well. The rechargeable batteries didn't last long after that, so I bought newer ones of the same version($10) and it works just as well as when I first bought it.

Thank you for this video. It seemed very fair and unbiased and was exactly what I was looking for. I'm personally going to be trying out Saberforge first simply because I did get to borrow a friend's ultrasaber and felt it was a bit too thick and I "accidentally" broke the tip off of it and I have heard that Saberforge's blades were much more durable with fairly sleek hilts.

The only thing that I didn't really get in this video that I wanted to see was an actual hands on durability test of the blades. The only real durability tests that I've seen on blades were done by the companies themselves so while I'm not inclined to say that they're lying or fibbing it's nice to see the same results possibly repeated by others. I'm not saying I want to see you guys just wail on each other's blades until they break because that's like 30 bucks a pop to replace but seeing some actual contact between the two in whatever form you utilize the blades would have been nice to see.

Thanks. A point of correction though. 6w vs 12 is exactly a correlation of how bright it is. A true 12w module will have twice the lumens of a 6w. That's how LED's work. Watts is a measurement of how much power is being used, not simply how much power is available. When you double light, it's now always perceived as twice as bright at a glance but 12 is twice the lumens every time.

Thanks for this review guys. I have been going back and forth between SaberForge and UltraSabers for 2 weeks. Since I am on a budget, this helped make my decision a little easier.

Thank you for this video and I really liked that you guys were very neutral in your review. This was the final video I watched before deciding on who to go with and this being my first saber, I've been lost... Went with SF. I questioned the 6 to 12w system also, I found in their FAQ it is the number of 3w LED's that are in there. Don't know if it will matter in the long run but I went with the Exhalted and seeing how the light has to funnel down the narrow tube to get to the blade, I figured the extra LED's wouldn't hurt. Now I wait for the USPS to bring my saber, going to be a long couple of months. Thanks again!!

Thanks! What a great review you guys did. I actually have a really old Ultrasaber from 2008 or 2009 and it still works, however the blade may need a replacement. I am considering the SaberForge now for my next saber and you gave me a LOT of "Food for thought" thank!s again!!

I quite enjoy the Saber hobby, I think we are fortunate to have so many choices in sabersmiths that do such great work.  There's nearly something for everyone - how awesome is that!  My personal preference is Ultrasabers( I now have six - yup!), I have dealt with them for two years and counting - great product, price and service.  I recommend shopping around, educate yourself - go with your gut instincts - and enjoy your new saber!

As great as Saberforge products are, it's genuinely hard for me to want to buy from them considering their business practices. Phil Isherwood is nothing short of disgusting in the way he treats customers/people that have 'inspired' his hilt designs. Do some research. It honestly is terrible.

I haven't bought a Saberforge yet but did purchase an Ultrasaber Initiate last month and so far it's been working fine. The red color is extremely bright....so don't stare at it too long....seriously and definitely get a plug so you don't accidentally shine the light into someone's eyes after you've removed the blade.

appreciate the review guys. to be honest the wait time really is excruciating if you're ordering off of their website,  they really do take their time with the saber. I ordered mine in December of the 19, and I'm still waiting for it. all in all the service could be a lot more friendly via email and a little more detailed, but saberforge really does offer great quality hand crafted sabers. thanks again for the review, glad you guys own a saberforge lightsaber now (:

I think saberforge has some great looking hilts but after watching this video, which was a very fair review I'm sticking with Ultrasabers without a doubt, I've ordered from them about 4 or 5 times and I've never had an issue with service or quality.

I have a standard 4xAAA setup Tri-Cree upgraded Blazing Red Ultrasabers and I recently recieved my 12W+ Warrior Edition Saberforge. After I turned on my Saberforge for first time after charging it fully I was shocked. 12W+ indigo isn't as bright as my Ultrasabers. I know Saberforge overrate their LED units when they say "brightest in market" but do you think it is because of the color difference or are their products overrated beyond my imagination?
