Broken Ferris Wheel Leaves Riders Stuck Upside Down in Tampa, FL

Patrons at a state fair in Tampa, FL, were left to spin in the wind after the ferris wheel broke down mid-ride. Video shared to social media shows people ‘stuck in midair, upside down,’ as one Facebook user put it.

According to local affiliate WTVJ, several riders experienced minor injuries as a result of the malfunction. The fair’s midway manager told WTVJ that ‘all safety and emergency protocols were followed.’

’We started going upside down and I didn’t see that happen with the previous riders. It just felt kind of different,’ said Janine Ford, who reportedly suffered bruising while on the ride with her 9-year-old son.
