Zong Yi chose Rui years ago and he was just a teenager, but he was sure that he wanted Rui as part of his life, he also wanted Rui as part of his family because he loves him and somehow he wanted to give him something he knows the man doesn’t have and has always wanted: a family. And he has been waiting for Rui to come back to him, he didn’t even pressure him after coming back together, but then Rui is still feeling guilty over the fact that he killed a man, somehow feeling like he owes Zhang Teng when he killed him because Zhang Teng was going to kill Zong Yi, so in a sense he doesn’t owe anything as he was just protecting the one he loved and Zhang Teng wanted to kill because of his jealousy and how he thought Zong Yi was taking Rui away from him. Zong Yi was acting cold towards Rui because Rui made a decision without taking into consideration his feelings or even what they both have gone through, so he probably saw Rui shutting him out, not sharing the things he’s feeling with him as if he’s not his partner, which is why he wanted Rui to promise him that whatever problem comes they will face it together, that he has to let him in, since Rui is the one he already chose to be his life partner. And Rui understood him and apologized and once again realized that the one before him is his own miracle and that he truly deserves to be deeply loved by the one he loves 🥺

It was not Zhen rui's fault that He Sining's brother died, he brought it on himself by trying to kill Zong Yi who was an innocent bystander. I think the sister should go to prison for attempted murder because she knew how hotheaded and irrational her brother was and she still chose to take revenge showing just as poor judgement as her brother before.
