Hi, Hephaestion- Alanna Penner

So, once upon a time, there lived this guy named Alexander. Alexander grew up in a slightly dysfunctional family with a mother who told him he was half-god and an insecure father. By the time he was 25, he had inherited Macedonia and conquered practically everything between Greece and India. Persia was his greatest triumph, and he was big into assimilating cultures. When the Persian conquest was complete, there was a massive party where Alexander and a bunch of his men married Persian women. Alexander himself married the two Persian princesses. I thought it might be fun to write a song from the perspective of one of these princesses- probably the sassier of the two. This song is directed to Alexander's right-hand man, Hephaestion; kind of like if this girl pulled Hephaestion aside and said to him "Hey buddy- I think your best friend might be psychotic. Maybe we should do something about that?" sorry for the history lesson and the awful sound quality- made this one on my laptop and won't be doing that again. Peace.
