Electronic Paper - See What Happens

A closer look at e-paper, often called e-ink. And with closer I mean super-macro of course...

Lazy Posy: @lazyposy

The color grid technology by E Ink is named "Kaleido". The technology in the picture frame is ACeP or "Gallery 3" also by E Ink. They recently released a version with 6 pigments but this is not available yet (sept 2023).

Individually cutting out all the flashing frames must have been no joke in the edit. Immense visuals 🤯

Posy could literally make paint drying interesting.

It sucks how frequently you hear about cool technologies being held back by a single company holding the patents for it

E-Paper tech is really cool. There's something magical to me about the way they keep their image. It's like having a little printed image that can mysteriously transmute when connected to power.

Absolutely blown away by the honeycomb display, immensely beautiful

You might try putting water or another fluid on it to see if it neutralizes the antiglare texture.

I have an e-ink device that I use for note taking in class called the Supernote! Because it doesn’t have a backlight and it only uses energy when changing colors the battery lasts for over a week. The writing feel is also much better than writing on a glass screen

E ink Displays are very fascinating, and seeing them in micro vision is something else. 🤓❤

This e-paper stuff always fascinated me since the first day I saw an e-book tablet as a kid, while it's really niche as a product, I've always hoped it as a cool futuristic replacement for certain things in the future, like paintings, books in libaries etc.

Doubt it'll actually become anything big until some sort of breakthrough new invention happens, or until patents are made public.

E ink has always been the closest to magic of any display tech! I love paper books so it's the closest thing. Such an analog feel.

This is genuinely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever viewed in my life. Your work is second to none Posy. ❤

You get the best shots. I didn't want to look away for a second. I mean, I said you should sell prints, and I still think you should, but the magic is in the moving image! These videos ARE the artworks and this channel is your gallery!

Now I am studying to be an editing director and motion designer. I found your wonderful channel a long time ago. I was in a creative crisis because of boring jobs... But now I'm trying to achieve the same level of cleanliness and accuracy in video editing as you have. You inspire me incredibly much! Thank you for your videos!

WOW. I had a pretty rudimentary understanding of E-Ink displays before. These extremely close up shots were AMAZING and actually made me understand how this stuff works! Especially the color e-ink stuff was amazing and something I hadn't seen before!

When a super macro shot of a kindle makes you want to cry, you know the video's good

2:31 This is also how my child drawing tablet worked that I had with me during car rides. I could draw on that and then when I wanted to make the canvas clean again, I would move a big thing over the screen and the draw again.
I eventually figured out that I was pulling some magnetic power or something to the top of the screen. Was a really cool children toy tbh.

I worked on the original Amazon Kindle, and one time I had left a prototype device in the window sill for a few days and then found that the screen had turned completely dark, although it cleared up the next time I rebooted it and refreshed the screen. My theory about what happened there was that the photovoltaic effect caused the screen charge to very slowly change, causing the black ink balls to eventually drift to the surface.

Seriously you're a true artist. Thank you for the amount of time you have spent on videomaking, but also on music, creative videos, and script writing (I see how concise yet un-rushed you are). This video was a symphony of your talents and it was beautiful.
