As i remember ai was not aggressive with player, so maybe codemasters just increased the level of aggression in f1 24

Based on this season alone, the amount of murder squeezes that have taken place, particularly at the start of the races, I'd say it's apparently fair. At least in comparison to those, you did have a bit of space still, though it wasn't much, at least it was actual track and not dirt or something.

If it was me though he'd be getting squeezed out at every turn from then on.

He didn’t squeeze you, the gap was always that small. If you go for a gap that’s barely wide enough then of course you’ll be close to the wall
On the other hand, your overtake was all 4 wheels off the track, so that would be illegal
