Nope.... before You load the game in settings You have additional video setting... You need to change it eevery time before loading into main game... Then the textures are changed. Linus have explained it very well in his video test with 8k rtx 3080 gameplay

I use mSI gaming x 1060 6gb and an LG 2560x1080 monitor. I had to enable triple buffering in nvidia settings to stop screen tearing and works and looks great at 40-38 FPS.
