The biplane did evolve into the 747. They did not have a common designer. The biplane was an early model. Slowly over time people figures out how to make them larger, and more powerful. The 747 was designed by a completely different person in a completely different time. Although it was not done by.natural selection. More trial, and error.

All of Cameron's facial expressions were not just exaggerated human ones, they are expressions orangutans make between themselves. To get the orangutan to make them, Cameron had to make orang-specific expressions. The limit of his acting ability?
The way he was talking about orang abilities also shows he knows bog all about their intelligence. He didn't give his lunch over to stop the baby having a tantrum, he was emotionally blackmailed *by* the baby orang. I say baby, he was definitely below the age at which he would naturally leave his mother. The fact that they could *rent a baby orang* is abhorrent! And they call themselves Christian? Where is their compassion?

Gee, Kirk... I think you could very much make the case that the 747 evolved rather directly, from the Wright Bros. first 1903 airplane.
In fact, it follows the evolutionary model exactly, starting small and very simple, and evolving into greater, and vastly more complex forms, including evolving into other species, like helicopters, auto-gyros, and tilt-roter aircraft.

The bi-plane, and more specifically the bi-plane designed by the Wright Brothers was the first successful sustained flight. It was the precursor to all future heavier than air flying machines. Bi-planes were used in air to air combat in WWI. Improved design eliminated the second wing. Single propeller and multiple propeller planes were used in WWII. In the later part of the war, the first jet planes were put into production (Howard Hughes actually designed some), but the war ended before they could be fully utilized. So yes, Kirk Cameron, the jet did evolve from the little bi-plane.
