SIO's Ayurveda Special Interest Group (SIG) presented a 2nd webinar of a 2 part series (Part 1 of 2 is also on this youtube channel and went live on 2/15/24 ) on Sept 12th 2024. Learn about the latest research on using Ayurveda alongside conventional cancer treatments.
The speakers are:
Santhosshi Narayanan MD - Moderator and introduces us to the need for research to know what works and does not work in ayurveda medicine
Manohar Gundeti MD - shares the status of ayurveda in India, research and development opportunities
Oluwadamilola Olaku MD, MPH, MRCOG - shares data from a survey of US ayurvedic practitioners
Herbert Newton MD, FAAN - provides an overview of mechanisms of action of various ayurvedic herbs
This session explores:
1. The need for more research in Ayurveda for cancer care
2. Current research findings & potential benefits for survivors
3. How herbs might work on a molecular level
4. Integrate traditional & modern medicine for better cancer care outcomes!
