Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean its not a reasonable price. Best piece of wisdom I have heard in awhile

1. If it’s good and cheap, it won’t be fast.
2. If it’s cheap and fast, it won’t be good.
3. If it’s fast and good, it won’t be CHEAP !!!!

That's why I quit teaching...could barely make ends meet on my salary. Parents and beaurocrats want me to babysit for 8 hours (with no duty-free bathroom or lunch breaks), manage behaviors, do the students classwork, homework, intervention time, wipe their noses and bums, answer messages all times of night, grade papers (heaven forbid they get the grade they earn), manage extreme behaviors, buy the kids bookbags clothes and supplies out of pocket, creating engaging lessons and projects, do the projects with each child, all while never sending any work home and volunteering 2 hours a day after school and even take the child home afterward. Oh yeah, while making less than $40, 000 after working nearly 10 years! Most of a teachers job is NOT done during contracted hours--they are working uncompensated overtime. I wholeheartedly believe in paying people every bit of what their worth if I don't have the skills to do it myself. Thank you to all the manual laborers and underappreciated workers out there!!

The higher your prices the less people like this you have to deal with. Never undervalue yourself. Folks that do are why this behavior exists in some customers.

Love these jerk videos. I love hearing on social media when people look for cheap, and they go with cheap, and the majority of the times they end up screwing themselves. I feel bad for them, but like you say, you get what you pay for. The sad thing for some is though that they go with cheap time, and time again, and they sit there and wonder how it is that they repeatedly get screwed.

I’ve had this happen even in our line of work. One guy tried slamming handmade soaps because “I can get it cheaper at the dollar store” 😂🤣 okay. I told him (seriously) “when you decide you enjoy having testosterone and balls again then we’re here. Until then, enjoy the hormone disrupting and I’m balancing chemicals.”
Should have sent the look on his face 😂😂 priceless!!

My husband is the most talented journeyman carpenter with over 30 years experience we’ve heard so much crap like this over the years. It’s funny how people seem to think that they are worth a certain amount and your worth noting .🤦🏻‍♀️

I agree with you. It so true especially in flowers shop. They want more flowers for less. I call them the cheap-O-s.

If someone tells me their prices are lower, I'll believe them. They know what their work is worth.

You are sooo right about this!! I get so tired of seeing these posts! Those people are also the first ones to complain when the work is less than perfect! You get what you pay for most of the time.

The last comment got my thumbs up. I once worked fer a guy in the remodeling business who wanted me to rush through jobs. I told him it could be right or fast. He said both. Now I am not a carpenter I am a jack of things. But yeah those types of contractors regardless of profession are the ones who give the rest the bad name and seem to be everywhere fer the Karens or whatever we are callin em now

And they have liability insurance for their business if they are doing construction work. To protect themselves and you if something goes terribly wrong.

If you want detergent go get that, but once your hand making and not making in volume. The reason those items are so cheap is because they are buying volume materials and have machinery to create volume, so they can afford to have a lower profit per bar because they are making a larger batch.

well the problem is that not many people make $65 per hour (= over $110, 00 per annum). Average income in the US is only something like $50, 00 per annum. So if you are only making $25 -$30 per hour gross working for corporate america, paying someone $65 per hour (from your net take home) it IS very expensive and that is why people balk at the prices. And actually, corporate america does economize by not paying employees, holding back on raises for years, increasing the cost of health insurance more and more for employees etc etc... not to mention replacing employees with temporary /contract workers so the company does not have to pay employee taxes, vacation days, sick days, unemployment etc etc....

I don't mind paying for something at higher costs as long as it it quality.

Someone gave me a bar of your soap. It's amazing and worth every penny of the price. But I have more important things to spend my limited funds on. So I'm stuck using the shit mass produced bars for right now.

Yeah, had a friend ask for a recommendation for skilled labor, and found out that she considered "reasonable" to be about 1/5 what I thought was "reasonable". It's definitely a "your mileage may vary" situation. Also, as you say, the quality may not be as good if you go with the cheapest bid. I've seen that many times. We pay a good price for good work, but we never have to have it redone. I'd rather pay $1000 once, than pay $200/year and have to deal with the hassle over and over.

Reasonable is whatever people will pay.
