Panel Discussion: Climate Justice and Female Leadership
Показать описание
Climate change is a global problem, but not everyone is impacted equally. Women, particularly black, Indigenous and women of colour around the world are bearing the brunt of the climate crisis – the UN estimates that 80% of those who have been displaced by climate change are women. Racism and sexism also affects participation in climate action aimed at protesting many of these injustices.
How can the environmental movement become more inclusive and what is the importance of female leadership in this space?
Tune in to this panel discussion in which Aarushi Menon, UCL’s Women’s Officer, explores these questions with librarian and sustainable living advocate Chantelle Richardson, climate communicator and podcaster Dainalyn Swaby, and climate justice activist Simmone Ahiaku.
This event took place on 08 March 2021.
