to defeat the mages you have to use the most effective elements, for the cryo mage, pyro, for the pyro mage, hydro and for the hydro mage, use cryo to freeze it and use ameno to break the shield

If anyone else is having a hard time i suggest having amber and lisa in your party with their "Q" skill ready. once their shields are down MC can use his/her "E" skill to add more damage to pyro and/or stun them by holding the attack button if they try to regenerate their shield. Do this for the fire and water mage. Elevtro is pretty effective against fire and water, while pyro is pretty effective against electro and ice.

Pyro against electro causes an overload damage bonus. Vice versa.
Electro against water will cause it to "conduct" giving u additional damage as well.

I see a lot of people being stuck at the mages, so I have some advice ig, idk I was just bashing the mages. I used barbara, keqing, and noelle, I used Noelle for the geo thing and shield. I used barbara for the pyro mage, and I used keqing for the other ones, I think electro or any good dps should work for the other two mages :)

you can easily get rid of the mage's shield using anemo, then keep using anemo. you'll atleast get rid of their shields at 50 seconds left. I thought using pyro, cyro, geo and hydro would work, they got rid of the shields but never killed them in time. then i thought of my anemo characters and they did help alot, 100% did have a heart attack but thats ok. if ur doing this challenge, dont stress out bc of this dumb time challenge and murder them using ur anemo elemental skills

For those asking for the Spirit Stones. You get one from the NPC that gives the quest once you reach the "Unravel" quest, the other one is found in one of the small basins, just go around and look for a shimmer.

tips for Abyss Mages:
for me just don't focus on doing specific things for each abyss mage. just focus on doing strong attacks. for example, I like using a hydro-electro-pyro attack using Xiangling, Beidou, and Barbara. electro works well with those two elements and creates a really strong attack. of course thats not the only element combos, there are many more. don't give up, there's a Luxurious chest and two Exquisite chests waiting for you!
