I hope it's not impolite of me to suggest this but watching this I got an idea for a video we could collaborate on where we could explore the different strategies of credit unions vs banks and see if there is scope for new tactics to claim back some of that market share. Are savings accounts with credit unions immune to Buyin?

Reasons to pick big banks:
- They have a more recognizable name, and who doesn't like flashing around big brand names?
- You get to have the pleasure of paying more money to save your money. Hey as the video game industry has shown with digital vs physical, isn't it fun to give big corporations more money for the exact same service?

Reasons to pick a credit union:
- Everything else. No seriously, everything else.

Honestly anyone who has ever used a credit union and a big bank has never looked back to wanting to use the big bank again.

I respectfully disagree with this video I have the same exact fees on my banks accounts than with a credit union. And I always have higher interest rates with a bank savings account. Find me a credit union that is accessible to the majority of people with 5% interest bare minimum. And I will be on board, but until then banks are more accessible and more profitable as a business and more profitable for the customer. I don't know why people are obsessed with the idea that banks are for-profit, CUs need to make money too that doesn't necessarily mean they're better. Actually most of the time they're worse they have less ATM coverage and they are generally more inconvenient cause most people don't use them for the systems around us to adopt them. If you want to join an elitist club where you can store your money then by all means join a credit union but if you're a normal ass joe then use a bank. Banks being for profit is good for us because they can put that money into lower interest rates unlike fucking credit unions which don't have money to being with. And some guy in the comments was saying he's a member of NFCU, they have an abysmal savings account rate, lots of other banks offer higher than a quarter of a percent. What year is this 500 BC?
