I really like this piece. I don't have a GMT in my collection, and I am at the point where I can now say field watches fit my lifestyle and personality. I enjoy wearing them all the time and this might be my 1st gmt watch.

Amazing JDM. The white dial is definitely in demand as it was not as easy to find in Tokyo. The black dial was on sale in major stores like BIC camera (12//2024) but all white dials were sold out at all their stores at the time I was there. Fortunately found TicTac, a small kiosk in Ikebukuro and copped it for about $350 tax free. The black dial was on sale for $270 at BIC.

I have a Redwood with that NH34 movement & the GMT complication, and will automatically slip-on that particular watch whenever I'm travelling overseas so that I can track my local time zone. Sure, the World Cock app on my phone can do the same thing and more, however I find it very handy to have it right there on my wrist for immediate consultation.

You're right about the bracelet. It was pleasantly surprising !!! I have swapped it out with Nato and Suede after market straps and its is just a fantastic strap monster

Picked the white one up in Tokyo (Ueno neighborhood) last week for $275 USD brand new! Took me 4 weeks to find one after visiting Nagoya, Yokohama, Fujisawa, Abashiri, and their flagship in Ginza. The bracelet is actually really good compared to my other Seiko 5s.

Here in India, these watches look cheap in USD but in inr it’s worth 30k, 40k and more
Hopefully one day I buy good watches and not random Chinese watches I have one tevise automatic btw which I love
And 9 quartz watches which are local and not from a respected brand

Thinking of selling mine tbh. Wanted to love it but in person the silver numerals make it hard to read at times (wish it were black) and usually the thickness of a watch doesn’t bother me but this one does. Might be the proportions.

I have a real explorer ii 16570 and this. Honestly there really isn’t a single thing similar about them other than both being GMTs. Defenitely not a copy cat like some other option.

It is not jumping half hour is it? It is following the outer 24 hr bezel so it’s jumping every hour. I was not able to find any GMT that moves by 30 minutes.

I just got one in Osaka last October. Great watch. Highly recommended. It actually looks better than Explorer 2 which I do own. Seiko 5 gmt is simply stunning but without the expensive price tag.

Yours seems to be like mine, the gmt hand won’t just align correctly to the bezel numbers
