this is what we need more of. If the brains going to asking people to donate blood instead went to this - we can have artificial blood and not make people suffer through giving - wehn they need their blood too. This is crucial for times that impact the masses - be it a natural disaster, pandemic (covid could've let those who donate be exposed in the donation area, and have fewer abilities to fight off the disease due to less blood and fewer immune cells circulating).
