I just found your channel. I'm one of those who've tested the Giulia and was very impressed with it. But I've waited for the car to mature past the bugs. It's good to hear a detailed perspective on ownership, like yours. I also appreciate your advice about dealerships too: Do your due diligence. Thank you (two) for what you do to encourage ownership for fence-sitters like me. Keep on it.👍

I have a 2019 TI Sport awd and never had any of the problems you mentioned in the video. Great car and a totally different driving experience. Love it.

I had the Veloce version for 2 years and the only issue I had was a very small rubbing noise coming from the steering column which was fixed in 10 minutes and the offending misaligned spring replaced. 26k miles and that was the only single issue I faced. I then upgraded to the Quadrifoglio and currently 18 months in. Not a single issue, no dash warnings, no strange noises, nothing. I don't drive it gently either, I spank the life out of it but it just asks for more. Glad the issues you do have aren't putting you off.

Good to see a US Alfa owner who loves their Alfa - with all its quirks. As a long time Alfa owner in Australia, I always feel really sorry for you guys in the US being dependent on dealers for servicing and repairs.

No doubt its due to Alfa's long absence from the States prior to the 4C and the general unfamiliarity of their service teams with Alfa systems and so on that you get such hit/miss service which results in reports of poor reliability (compared to most of the world).

Here in Australia, no one is forced to use a dealer for servicing (its illegal for warranties to restrict you to using a dealer) and there is a huge array of independent workshops which specialise in Alfas and other Italian marques. I've been going to the same workshop for 11 years which is owned by an old Italian fella and his boys, and has been in business for over 30 years. Brilliant work always, and they handle everything from the '40s/'50s through to current models. Even the local Alfa dealer, just up the road, sends cars there from time to time.

For context, I haven't owned a recent model (eg Giulia or Stelvio) but am onto my 4th Alfa - a super rare 2002 156 GTA 3.2V6. Its now 21yo, has done over 250, 000km and is a fantastic daily driver - great performer, fantastic sound from the Busso V6 (with its chromed air inlet runners surely the most beautiful factory engine spec in the world), brilliant handling, and the best looking sedan in the last 30 years. I also still have a 1981 2.0 Alfetta GTV coupe, and previously owned two more V6 156 sedans.

I have a 2019 and one of the biggest issues I have with this vehicle is the weak HVAC. I just feel like the blower fans are not powerful enough, especially if you have it to blow towards your face and feet. Even at full speed it barely feels like it's working even though it is super loud... I've had the blower motor replaced 3 times (for other issues) and it still acts the same even on service loaners.

Your auto start might not work cause your battery might be faulty. Happened on mine and after I put in a new one, it works perfectly.

I nearly cried at 1:30-1:33 when you put that sound for her Honda LMAO xD

I own a ‘17 Guilia also and have gone to the dealership to get the speaker issue fixed. It’s a standard issue but can be fixed. Highly recommend it.

Hey mate, I was worried as I am about to buy one. All the 5 mentioned hated things are mines. Enjoy the beautiful Giulia

There’s apparently an easy fix to stop the auto stop-start from working so you don’t have to manually turn it off.

Speakers are fine on mine (I have the HK speakers).

Never noticed the AC not working in reverse.

Software updates - I have had 3 so far (2018 Giulia). Last one made my door mirrors stop working properly. Dealer had to change the “door switches” to fix it! Go figure.

Overall a great car. Glad I bought it!

I have a 2017 gulia. Keep the battery happy and you'll be happy. I love the sound system, but sometimes it takes way to long to connect to my phone. I bought a bypass for the start stop feature and it been great. Funny you mentioned past cars cause I had an frs before. I just wanted something nicer. The nearest dealership is 8 hours away.

The traction control issue is the first thing that might be a dealbreaker that I've heard -- only because in the rare occasion I need to drive in light snow, traction control can make a car undriveable.

I don't deal with a lot of snow, but it does happen occasionally.

Good info! Just purchased a '23 Quadrifoglio, first Italian brand coming from a long term AMG and BMW ownership.

I have a 916 GTV 3.0 with double pipes and the exhaust note is so nice you don’t care for a radio. The only issue I have with my Stelvio is the amount of times a Porsche SUV pulls up and wants to race. Its cool the first few times but it gets old after a while 😂

Much does it cost to get a software update at the dealer typically or generally I should say😊
