Another problem with versions above 1.16.1 is that the pearl trade from piglin bartering was decreased (both in quantity of pearls per trade and how often it happens), which for speedrunners is more important

The main reason why people speedrun 1.16.1 is not the brutes (though they are annoying), but the fact that you get way more enderperls when bartering

1:10 actually, if you get enderpearls from bartering, you get more pearls in 1.16.1 then above 1.16.1 too!!!

Not sure if you'll see this or not, but the cathedral at 6:53 kind of reminded me of a build that me and around 20 other people worked on in survival. It was around half that size and had ~700, 000 blocks in it and took us around 8 months to complete. Great video by the way

0:37 a correction I guess: there is a new world record, but it hasn't been verified yet, and it may not ever be because of the runner accidentally leaving the world post blind travel. Also the runner is Sagi_igal and his time is 8:37
