I've heard Oman is alot better for foreign workers to live in than both UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. There is natural greenery, and mountains with wild life. People are friendly and the riches are a little better "even" out.

I was in Oman in 1984 for 4 months. It had some strange laws about number plates and who had special number plates had right of way. I met minister of roundabouts It was still an old culture and no many modern architecture. I never got the impression Oman was rich but I guess they have made this all these years later after the war 15 years before. Did you know and I was told this first hand that a lot of Omani’s worked in the docks and on ships. When the war was over they were invited back given land and money to settle and build a house.
