Some enhancements in case someone wants to step this up:

Add some honey or sweetener to the yogurt.

Add vanilla extract after the eggs

Add a pinch of salt just before baking

I like how he starts off saying "this is not cheesecake" about something that looks nothing like cheesecake

Tried it yesterday, can confirm it works and tastes pretty good. Sharing some thoughts and after that my recipe version (for the record, I am 45yo and do a 5-day-Bro-Split in the gym, so, looking pretty massive, especially for my age).

The calories and protein amounts do not sum up exactly, but it is close enough. 5 big eggs alone are 450 calories (I used middle sized ones, but I have to admit, my "pie" did not get quite as fluffy as in the video). 150g greek yoghurt is another 170 calories, and you need 2 of those. So, right now we are at roughly 800 calories already, without topping. If you do not use high protein yoghurt you will not get to 75 g protein. And if you use his toppings, this is a 1.000 calories dish, keep that in mind (but also, 1000 kcal for 75g Protein is totally fine). Mine had in the end around 750 calories and 70g protein, cuz I replaced one ts of starch with 1 ts of vanilla whey for the extra vanilla taste and some extra protein. You can play a bit with the ingredients, but you will not get a much better balance between calories and protein. Just leave the caramel stuff, and you are good.

Also: Consider that it is not easy to eat this whole thing. It is a lot, and not a cheesecake, this is not super creamy. It is pretty "eggy" and thus a bit dry, you need lots to drink for this. I managed to eat 3 quarters of it, after that I was done for good. means, I get 50g protein with 600 calories. Which is okay. Usually I breakfast some protein shake with skyr, that is done in 2 minutes and has 55g protein with 550 calories, but well, we all need some change here and there, and this "pie" is fairly quickly done.

My recipe:
- 300g Greek Yoghurt (you can replace it with high protein yoghurt like the dude in the video did, with any taste you like)
- 4 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 spoon (30g) vanilla whey protein
- 5 middle sized eggs
(for the topping I later add 1 tablespoon of powder sugar =5g, just to have the calories calculated)

160 degree Celsius in the oven ("Umluft" = hot air. The other way makes it too dry, I guess). I recommend to let it 30 minutes on 160 degree and then go down on 140-150 degree for another 45 minutes, so the crust will be brown and the inside will bake slowly. Once taken out of the oven, put aluminium foil over the still hot form and let it cool over night on the table. Do not put it into the fridge).

It is 705 calories before the powdered sugar and caramel if anyone one is curious. He didn't measure those last ingredients so maybe roughly 800 in total depending how generous you are with toppings.

For anyone wondering how he's getting that much protein. He's using Oikos high protein yogurt.

Finally! It's nice to see recipes without protein powder. Protein powder painfully bloats me and causes issue so I love that it's protein from natural sources. Thank you. I'm going to give this a try 🥰

I wonder if you separated the whites and whipped to soft peaks then folded in a mixture of the yolks and remaining ingredients if that would prevent the cave in.

That bready texture though. I've made this a few times and it comes out more like an eggy, sweet souffle. Which is fine, but those layers are appealing. I used a little white sugar to incorporate extra air into it, no dice. Looked closer, but still a homogeneous mass of fluffy, sweet egg stuff 🤷‍♂️. I'll keep trying, but it anyone's achieved the layers I'd be curious to know what you did. THANKS FOR SHARING!!

Thinking about trying this with Almond Flour to make it more Keto friendly.

I’m using egg whites for this. What I’ve noticed is when I do a full egg and reheat it I can taste the raw egg

Mine came out super dense and not very soft kind of like cheesecake, anyone have any suggestions? Should I add baking powder?
