I think Gladiator could actually win if he strikes early, and is properly motivated. For instance, if he perceives Clark as a threat to the Shiar, he will blitz and not hold anything back. Trying to kill the Kryptonian, which would give him, at least an early advantage, if not, the win. With his warrior mentality, fighting skills and ruthlessness, I could see Kallark smashing Superman in a one sided victory. However, if Supes is able to endure Gladiator in the early going, realizing his opponent is on his level, he’ll eventually get the win. As Gladiator’s confidence diminishes, so does his power, which means it won’t be long until Kallark is going nighty night ala one planet smashing blow to a weakened jaw. Superman is written as too wank of a character not to secure the W of an obvious rip-off who is more or less a supporting character in Marvel. With that kind of plot armor on his side, there are very few who can get the jump on Superman. Of the Marvel “Supermen, ” I think Gladiator stands a better chance than Blue Marvel or Hyperion. Sentry is a different animal, however.
