I can remember when those thunderous f16 jets from the usaf flew over Dublin City to perform that fly past after the anthem. They were incredibly loud which sounded not like loud thunder but several bombs exploding like from ww2. Most people are wondering why there are no fighter jets in the Air Corps at the moment in Ireland. Most likely it is the noise from it’s turbojet engines which most concerning that if they were training over Baldonnel airport, there could be an awful lot of complaints about the noise from these aircraft. But was a great surprise to see these jets over Croke park after the anthem had ended.
