Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said on Monday that if case numbers remain at the current projected rate that by next week, he plans to release his government's "Reopen Saskatchewan" plan in a safe way, stressing more testing and contact tracing will be "vital" to re-opening and keeping the province open.

He said they would need to see a constant rate of cases at the levels they're currently at in order to determine whether to open the province and do so in consultation with Public Health. Moe also added that they would likely reopen the province in phases, reopening areas that have the least risk and monitoring the process. He said that long-term care homes and similar facilities, however, will likely have current measures in place for some time even as the province reopens.

Asked about a report that Saskatoon is being considered a potential location for NHL games to possibly be played without fans, Moe said they would need to meet all possible requirements set out by both the province and Canada's medical health officers. The province's chief health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab said large group events would be "lower than business as usual" in terms of resumption.

Saskatchewan reported two new cases of COVID-19 , bringing the total of reported cases in the province to 300.

The province reported 14 more recoveries on Monday, bringing the total individuals who have recovered to 178.
