In this clip of Crazy Wisdom, we sit down with Steve Case, co-founder of AOL and current chairman and CEO of Revolution LLC, to discuss his fascination with entrepreneurship since his time at AOL. After stepping down as CEO of AOL Time Warner in his early 40s, Case turned his attention to backing the next generation of entrepreneurs through personal investments and later scaling up to build the Revolution platform, which includes Revolution's Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Revolution Ventures, and Revolution Growth.

Case also delves into his involvement with policy related to entrepreneurship in Washington D.C., including co-chairing the first National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, chairing the Startup America initiative launched by President Obama, and working on legislation such as the JOBS Act. Through these experiences, he recognized the importance of entrepreneurs and startups in driving job creation and economic development across the country, as well as the disparity in access to capital based on geographic location.

This realization led to the Rise of the Rest initiative, which aims to promote entrepreneurship in cities across the United States, not just in major hubs like San Francisco, New York, and Boston. Case discusses the need for more inclusive policies that foster entrepreneurial ecosystems and help incubate and scale companies, ultimately creating jobs in diverse regions nationwide.
