Is DJI in TROUBLE? Air 3s Shipment Seized at U.S Border! What is DJI's future in the U.S?

Some worrying news for U.S based DJI fans. If you were hoping to get your hands on a DJI Air 3s drone at release, chances are you have not been able to do so. US Customs have held a shipment of DJI drones for additional checks over what DJI is calling a 'misunderstanding'. However, with a bill working through the U.S houses intended to ban Chinese made drones, what does the future look like for DJI's products in the U.S?

Adorama recently got a shipment. Mine should arrive Monday 11/11 according to UPS tracking. Only place I know of that has them as of now.

Yes, my drone is stuck at the customs for over a week now.

Live in West Virginia -- ordered Air 3s October 31st. Took 3 days for DHL to get drone from Hong Kong to Cincinnati, OH. This is where the shipment was halted by US Customs. Today is November 19 - still at a standstill. DJI says it may be a month or more.

No issues at all with mine zipping through customs ad arriving in the FL panhandle less than a week after I ordered mine from the online DJI store. Same with the extra Neo I ordered. That one took 6 days from order until the guy dropped it on my front porch.

I live in Virginia. There are some DJI drones being stopped by customs, but only in certain ports like Miami. My Air 3s and Neo just flew into Atlanta and cleared customs with no issues. Just was notified both were transferred to a third party (US Postal Service) for delivery in a few days. I had a few folks on Reddit reach out and say DHL wanted them to fill out some paperwork and provide their Social Security #’s… which seemed odd. So bottom line is only a select few shipments are on hold… I believe if you peel it back and follow the money… you’ll find some someone trying to slow DJI sales.

They are not in stock in our local stores like they normally are most likely they’re going to be banned from the USA just a matter of time I was going to buy it but after I read the specs not interested the camera is basically like the air 2s no upgrade to the transmission signal and you lose a minute of flight time definitely not interested 👎 I will stick with my Air3 until it’s completely banned from the USA

Would US Customs sieze your Air3S if you traveled outside the US with it and then on return to US Customs confiscate the drone?
