These Momma Cows Aren't Going to be Happy With Me!

I've waited as long as I could, but it was time to wean our calves. We rounded up the Big Joe herd, and then sorted them off one by one. This will give the Moms a break to take care of themselves before turning around and having calves this spring and early summer. This is a "take your time" process.

i imagine you get tired of horse people telling you what to do, but just wanted to comment that hard tying a horse is not always the best thing to do. horses have a viscerally instinctive flight response, and if for any reason they panic, they can really injure themselves by trying to pull free or to break through the corral. there are special ties you can get that will break if they really panic, or special clips that will let the rope run through if the horses panic and start pulling really hard. just something you might want to consider, they're so beautiful and i'd hate to see them hurt.
great job with the bison! you've got a great thing going there. i love watching your bison ranching life.

You do a great job at cutting the bison. They act like they know what you want them to do. Enjoy watching you work with the bison. Thanks for sharing.

Calves are looking great. I think about your very first 4 with Dunbar and look at you now. This is awesome.

Dusty says, 🧍🏼‍♀️ "Big Joe, you go ahead, buddy." BJ says, "Just waitin' for ya to say." 🦬

I love the rapport between this family and the herd. It shows especially with how they respond to Dusty.

I so love watching you interact with your bison whether it’s days like today, treating Eleanor, or laying out hay! You must have the spirit & soul to communicate what you need from them, bc they seem to respect you & they do listen to you. Fun to see how it works! Love these videos! Thanks!❤

I still love and fallow your video’s. As a native, I dearly love the mighty Bison but I enjoy watching Bullet even though he makes me cry and also heal the loss of my little boy a long haired of 16yrs . Thank you again
