Who's the Main Villain in the NEW Devil May Cry Anime? #devilmaycry

Dante is on his way for some pizza and is back in the official Netflix Devil May Cry anime From Capcom, led by Adi Shankar, and animated by Studio Mir comes Devil May Cry - a Netflix animated series based on the hit video game franchise. Premiering April 2025.

Devil May Cry is based on the popular action-adventure game of the same name, developed by Capcom and created by Hideki Kamiya. The game follows the hunter Dante, who makes it his life’s mission to avenge his mother’s death by killing all demons.

Well in a small frame we can see a girl, which resembles Beryl, who was mentioned in the dmc2 novel. If that's true, then we can quite expect the events happening from dmc3 to dmc2

Vergils clone thing will probably appear from the looks of it the novel is also getting adapted in this too so lady hasn’t met Dante yet if they stick with the timeline of this being before 3

Keep in mind he doesn't have ebony and ivory in this trailer. Which would mean that either they messed up his guns. Or That this game takes place in or before the devil may cry 1 novel. Where he meets neil goldstein who makes him ebony and ivory. So I wouldn't say that it takes place during the devil may cry 3 manga. But I have to finish the books to know for sure

Honestly the netflix show was my first introduction to devil may cry and coming imediatly from finishing both castlevania series it was good but the 2007 anime i watch after this is better

This is a kind of reboot/retcon. They rewrote how Dante and Lady meet, Lady's father's fate, how Dante achieves Devil Trigger for the first time, Virgil is still alive, and it seems Sparda is also still alive but missing. Dante also didnt know he was half demon in the beginning so they retcon'd that as well.

I read somewhere that adi shankar's favorite Dante's outfit was a tie between 3 and 5, so it's pretty neat seeing his Dante appears to wear an amalgamation of both looks
