I am also on the autism spectrum, and things like non binary and transgender were very hard for me to wrap my head around ( and still can be sometimes ) because I like categories and I like labels. But in a weird way, it has also made me more accepting of the gender spectrum. I simply had to imagine what it would have been like for me to be born in a male body, or have my brain transplanted into one. In this way, I could see that whatever part of my brain, soul or mind, whatever you want to call it, is female. It is not just my body.
