Alison (Ali) Fett has been the Assistant Vice President of Talent Development at Verve a Credit Union for the past three years. In this role, she strives to create a culture of servant leadership through developmental trainings and one-on- one coaching. Ali takes pride in serving those around her and inspiring others to do the same. Her leadership style is one of self-discovery, empowerment, candor, and unconditional love. Ali firmly believes servant leadership is a journey not a destination.

When Ali is not working, she enjoys golfing, watching basketball, fishing, creating arts/crafts, public speaking and, last but not least, dance parties with her two children Vincent – (“Vinny”) and Penelope – (“PJ”).

My interpretation of the topics. Good talk:
7 Great techniques to practice as a servant leader:
Cork - pause/stop and listen to respond not react.
Puzzle Piece - value individuality and create a space where people feel they can be their true selves.
Goal Post - good leaders give effective goal posts. Effective communication to produce great results. Servant leaders provide the goals, but empower the teams to figure out how to achieve them.
Ladder - ladder of assumptions - seek to understand. We all have our perspective, seek to understand that of others.
Penny - there are always 2 sides to every coin - your perspective only shows one side - flip the coin and ask great questions.
Bucket - Praise and acknowledgement - fill up the buckets of others. Be specific with praise & acknowledgement.
Jar - transparent - create a safe environment by not being defensive so others feel empowered to provide feedback and confidently vulnerable.
Bonus: everybody wins when a leader gets better.

Thanks for this enriching topic on female servant leadership. Her aim was to empower her team by being a role model, by being grateful, by staying humble, asking the right questions, and by framing her perceptions in a manner that brings out the best among her team members. Yey! Cheering you on from the Philippines.

Absolutely wonderful! This week, I have been watching videos on how to deliver good speeches and none compared to what this presenter did. Excellent material delivered in a compelling manner. I definitely will share this video and look for more from this presenter.

This is fantastic, two of my bosses in the past have been exactly this and I felt like my job was amazing because of them. This stuff really does work. If I find myself in positional power I'm definitely going to be following these principles.

Just to clarify as I can see how it might be confusing. The servant leadership symbols/items are:
1. Cork
2. Puzzle piece
3. Goal post
4. Ladder
5. Penny
6. Bucket
7. Jar

Thank you so much for watching, practicing and sharing these concepts!

Tashi Deley!

Great video, well. said. She should probably learn how to count though...1) Stop and pause, 2) value individuality, 3) praise and acknowledgement, 4) assumptions and seeking to understand, 5) empowerment, and 6) transparency...

At 16:06 the jar has a mirror in it. She discusses the cork, puzzle piece, bucket, ladder, goalpost, and jar (6 items). The mirror is never discussed. Anyone know what that is for?
