Phasing out fossil fuels is a “big joke,” according to The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan.

Mr Sheridan’s remarks come after the United Nations climate conference COP28 dropped the phasing out of fossil fuels in a draft agreement.

“The whole thing is just a big joke,” he told Sky News Australia.

“So much of this stuff in this green area is complete junk.

“These COP processes – they deal in a kind of bizarre fantasy.”

So many are so excited about the dream of deindustrializing the world. We will see how miserable the future will be and then go back to industrialization and higher standard of living.

How did they miss the actual story? The OPEC countries couldn't even agree on the watered down language proposed by Australia/US/UK/etc.

Most countries wanted even stronger language, which Australia was never going to agree to anyway.

We need to tell people that paper climate refugees will increase our theoretical carbon footprint.

Too much pressure from oil and gas producing countries.
Unfortunately, their stance means we'll pass the 1.5 c threshold.
Standby for more record breaking extreme weather events.
