Of all the baffling decisions Disney's made recently, I never thought bringing back the "Belle's Magical World" method of making sequels would be one of them.

Another slight issue I have is after Moana becomes a demigoddess at the end, they don't really have her show any sort of powers besides makingthe glowingpath with her oar. It's like Disney was deliberately trying to be vague because they thought people would call it a cop out. Even though she totally earned the title. Or maybe they're saving it for Moana 3.

A common problem I’ve acknowledged with Disney in the 2020s have been making tv shows that should’ve been movies (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Moon Knight, Iwájú, Secret Invasion, The Book of Boba Fett) and movies that should’ve been tv shows (Raya, Eternals and now this).

Disney logic: Raya struggled as a project because we forced it to be a movie instead of a show where we could give the setting and characters all the time it needed to set up effectively. Now that we have a chance to redeem ourselves with a tv show about one of our newest successes we should just do the same things that screwed up raya, after all they cant have moana on a tv show. That would just ruin her prestige and it does look too beautiful for a tv show right

Even more than not having Lin Manuel Miranda, Musker and Clements not coming back was a warning of its quality.

and they don't even have the "Well, look how good this animation is for what ws supposed to just be a TV Show?" excuse, because 1. they upped the budget and gave it more time anyway, and 2. Arcane Season 2 exists and is three times longer.

D'y'know the worst part? Tangled the series was GOOD. A truly worthy sequel to the original. I even like it better than the film. Meaning I know _exactly_ what we missed out on when Moana 2 got hastily converted from a series to a film.

It reminds me of when Disney put "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" in front of "Coco" instead of keeping it as a television short like was planned. Their reasoning was that the overall look and animation was so beautiful that it just HAD to be seen on the big screen, despite being about 22 minutes long and people wanting to see "Coco" instead of a near half hour long Frozen short. I feel like that was just the start of Disney making poor decisions. Some things that are made for the small screen should stay on the small screen, even if the animation is beautiful.

Gee, I wonder if the epic return of Schaff- I mean the shiny giant turtle- I mean the epic end credits return of Tamatoa was because this was clearly supposed to be a tv series with an ongoing plot desperately smashed together into a marketable movie?
