Ford F150 Pre Collision Assist Not Available

In this video we show our diagnosis and repair of a 2022 Ford F150 that's displaying a Pre-Collision Assist Not Available message. The code in the cruise control module was B142E - forward looing sensor horizontal alignment. The alignment offset PID in the cruise control module was reading over 5 degrees off and after trying to recalibrate the cruise control radar sensor the cruise control module had to be replaced to repair the vehicle.

Great info!!! Thanks so much for sharing. Shortly after installing an aftermarket Raptor bumper and fabricating a mount for the sensor I started geting the error code after seen your video and following the steps I was able to recalibrate the sensor and get the error cleared out. Again, thank you so much for sharing.

Hi, I got a F150 where after a front crash the bumper and the cruise control module were replaced. After repairs done the Cruise adaptative control work fine but the collision warning does not, even the truck dashboard display does not show any pop-up malfunction warning. Everyting looks ok and working fine, but in reality the collision warning does not work. The way I use to check it is driving in low speed against a parked or stopped vehicle or anything on the street and no collision lights and sounds go off. So, what you think? . Thank you

I had a similar problem on my 2023 F-150 Tremor which I purchased new off the lot of an out-of-state dealer. My local dealer determined that the wiring connection at one of the sensors was not properly plugged in and I assume that was done at the factory. IMO that problem should have been discovered during dealer prep but was never addressed by the selling dealer who delivered the truck to my home from their state. I also found other things like factory assembly decals on the seat backs and pieces of tape on the power sliding rear window that should have been removed during dealer prep but were not. Dealer prep was either non-existent or shoddy at best. A more serious problem was that I also found body damage that the selling dealer eventually claimed was done by the company that shipped the truck to the dealership whom I assume the selling dealer ultimately filed a claim against. My local dealer also did the body repairs at no cost to me or my insurance company. However, if the damage was done before the selling dealer received the truck why didn't they repair it during dealer prep? BTW, the truck was built seven months before I purchased it and was delivered to me after dark which I believe was done intentionally so that I would not see the condition it was in. Before I purchased it I also viewed photos of the truck that were taken on the dealership lot and posted on their website and none of the body damage was visible in those photos. My original plan was to drive the 500 miles to the dealership to pick up the truck and drop off my trade until the dealer offered to deliver it for free. I wonder why (sarcasm)? Total BS from the selling dealer in Valparaiso, IN. Perfect example of why customers hate the whole buying experience and don't trust dealerships.

I recalibrate it and it last like 3 weeks and the pre collision assist not available pops up again after those 3 weeks does that mean I need a new one ?

I have a 21 fr50 lariat sport and this is the second time I have had this issue with pre collision assist not available. Mine cruise won't work nor will my head lights auto bright and dim on its own....my question is it the one in the windshield behind the rear-view mirror or is the one in the bumper showed that is the problem or maybe both.

Will this notification cause your vehicle to have any other issues? Will it cause your vehicle to not function properly or is it just an annoying notification to have on the cluster?

So I run the calibration test and it completes, 100% and the message goes away, but my offset is still at -3°.. is my module fucked or should I try a reset of the module and not just a calibration or what

I hope you see this and maybe have some advice to lend… I have done every AsBuilt check in the modules I could, I am at .30°. When I do the CCM calibration it never leaves 0% and it’s driving me crazy. Got all the different malfunctions after doing tires / 3.5” level - 2021 F250 Platinum. Help!!!! 😂

What's the steps in FDRS to install the new module ?

Is there a way to see offset using forscan? We did the ccm calibration in forscan and the forscan alignment prompt goes away after driving ten minutes but cruise still does not work. Reset dtc but still get the same dtc b142e at next startup with no cruise function

I have 2023 5.0 f150 XL, and this warning is appearing some times, I also noticed that I don't get any warning when I drive very closely to the car in front of me, the truck is new it has how about 1000 mile on it, also I have noticed that warning light when I got the car from the dealership but it disappears before I can take a picture of it

Hey @CarShopTalk, very informative video, but you didn't mention anything about programming the new pre-collision sensor you installed. I bought a new pre-collision sensor thinking I'd be able to install it myself on my Ford after watching your video, but without having a way to install the Ford As-Built software to the new sensor, it looks like I'm going to have to take in to the dealership.

I have a 2018 F150, I have the same message PC Assist not available. I replaced the module but I don't see the Cruise Control Module in Forscan. Could it be the cheap OBDII connection adapter?

Is this under warranty? Or ford does not cover?
