Every company with more than 2000 staff is required to have 50%of trade union representatives on their board of administration.this makes sure both sides work together, instead of being enemies.also the workers often know better what's going wrong.

Soziale Marktwirtschaft is quite literally a mixture between socialism and capitalism. Sadly, there are parties leading the country now that don't think the balance of those two is important anymore and go full on socialism in many fields. They are, just as an example, altering the market by investing tax payer's money into certain fields to give them a headstart, whilst other, maybe even more innovative things, have to struggle for their survival or die out before they can blossom. This is the reason why there is barely to no innovation coming from Germany. 1) Overall costs and taxes are way too high, 2) Competition is limited or non existent through planned economy (ie subsidized companies, lobbies and/or sectors of production and 3) You don't know what those socialist parties will destroy or subsidize next. Not to mention our social system which is basically a free money machine. So innovation wanders off to America, China or GB where either the market regulates who will achieve something or taxes/overall costs are minimal. This is basically why the brain drain exists in Germany. People from outside come into our social system whilst those that help holding up said social system move away. Too bad this socialist utopia will always have people day dreaming until it's too late.
