In this video we share everything with you about the Mukashi Ogon variety. This variety will get huge if you can acquire a nice exemplar. Typical for Mukashi Ogon is that the variety can grow really fast.

Mukashi Ogon have a kind of grey type of skin. A scaled variation normally will have darker scales and the skin around it will be lighter coloured. For Doitsu varieties, without scales, you will see the same effect. As you also can see on this Mukashi Ogon from the Izumiya Koi Farm.

Mukashi was quite a popular variety a few years ago. Nowadays I have to say I hear a little bit less about them. But still a very, very nice Koi for your collection.

Wagoi version is a better example of mukashi ogon🙂. That being said, im really enjoying the depth your videos go into appreciating lesser known koi. Keep it up!

This is a nice Verity, I was actually looking at One online the other day. Personally I would go for a nice Yamabuki Ogon and One or Two Platinum Ogon. But that is my own personal preference.

Though the doitsu version of mukashi does look attractive, i believe the classic scaled version is the best. Fukurin is best appreciated in the full scaled mukashi.
