Donald Trump: comments about injecting disinfectant were 'sarcastic'

Donald Trump insisted on Friday that he was being 'sarcastic' when he raised the possibility of disinfectants being injected into people to combat Covid-19, prompting the makers of Lysol and Dettol to say its products should 'under no circumstance' be used as an internal treatment for the coronavirus. The president instead focused on another potentially dangerous idea: using disinfectant on the hands. Household disinfectant is not intended for use on the body
