Preferential treatment is EXACTLY what DEI is all about. She is doing some hard wish fulfillment is she thinks everyone being hired is qualified.

If people were qualified, then there wouldn't ever have been a problem. This lady doesn't get it. This isn't failing because people are "afraid". It's failing because it's failing: companies are losing money, open to legitimate lawsuits, and it's not about fairness.

This is one of the best bits of news I've seen in quite a while.

I remember when I first saw "Dean of Equity and Inclusion" on a plaque on a door in a hallway and a Jaguar in the staff parking. I laughed my ass off for a month. I wanted to put up a sign in the staff parking lot that read;
"All indoctrination and re education proffessors please turn in your buguazae motor cars to the Redistribution Kommisar"

A company exists to make and distribute a quality product at a reasonable price. Everything should be geared towards that end. Anything else is a drag.

For DEI in media it was never about the promotion of social justice or cultural harmony and had everything to do with money. There was an attempt by companies to reach a wider/new audience by reaching out to demographics that don’t typically buy the product. Look how fast Bud Light went from being pro trans rights to we support the troops after their DEI efforts blew up in their face.

Fine. Then one HR rep that is not on the hiring committee should remove any ethnic or gender indicators (such as name and names of universities) and the interview should be done over Slack or some other DM program. That’s really the only way we can know that the companies aren’t being racist or sexist.

Solution? All job applicantions are submitted without a name or age or other details that identify the sex, age, race, religion of the applicant. Make every applicant sit a suitable test to ascertain ability and capability and knowledge of the prospective job, Have it include an IQ test and literacy/numeracy test and then select the people with the highest scores. This system discriminates between the most suitable and the less suitable / unsuitable, as it should. Problem solved! Selection is based on merit and there is no age/race/sex/religioni discrimination.

It's simple. Race, gender, sex, religion should not be a factor in hiring decisions. If we're going to end discrimination, end all of it.
