The Brevard Zoo Introduces Port Canaveral Aquarium Plans to the City of Cape Canaveral, FL

The #3 Zoo in North America 🤝 The #1 Cruise Port on the Planet
Did you know that the Brevard Zoo is bringing an Aquarium to Port Canaveral?
Set to break ground in Fall 2024, #TheAquariumProject hosted a presentation at Cape Canaveral City Hall yesterday evening.
This OUTDOOR Aquarium is described to “be defined by the ecological treasures we have the responsibility to steward" on the flyer handed out. This world-class structure on the shores of the Banana River is focused on displaying, educating and giving aid to our three uniques bodies of water that make up our ecosystem that we live in and care about most - the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Indian River Lagoon in the middle and the St. John's River to the west.
Designs mentioned were,
❤️🩹 A Critical Care Manatee Rehabilitation Center
❤️🩹 A Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center
🐟 Lockes Exhibit
🦈 Shark Flats
💧 Stingray Shuffle Pool, that you'll actually be able to walk through 😲💦
🐊 An area dedicated to the St Johns - "teaching us about local catch, sustainable seafood and living lightly on the lagoon" - Zach Marchetti of the Brevard Zoo mentioned during the presentation.
🤝 There's even a building specific to Lagoon Conservation efforts where those volunteering have a place to meet and collaborate, and where the locals will be welcome to explore in order to learn about the Lagoon, get the latest updates on the state of the IRL, its current threats and more!
The Aquarium is currently projected to OPEN IN EARLY 2027...
