Schopenhauer is one of the most underestimated thinkers in the history of Western literature imo. He had much influence on Darwin, Freud and Nietzsche, all thinkers that are very well known and had massive influence on the develepment of Evolution, Psychology and Philosophy, and all togehter, what the Western world view is today. Just because Schopenhauers writings can come across as dark, doesn't make them less valid. He was a genius.

Schopenhauer doesn’t try to make life prettier than it is — and that’s what makes his perspective so powerful. His pessimism isn’t about giving up, it’s about seeing the world clearly and choosing to live with intention anyway.

Schopenhauer doesn’t sugarcoat reality, and that’s exactly why his words hit so hard. There’s a strange comfort in knowing someone saw life’s darkness so clearly and still found wisdom in it.

When -- as a 19-20 year old student -- I first learned about Schopenhauer's "darkness" I was delighted! Here was someone who didn't hesitate to "tell it like it is" !

I still feel this way about him!

Humanity should never delude themselves. Seeing the truth is the most joyous and liberating thing there is, no matter how terrible and depressing it may be initialy, because seeing it is the ONLY way to transcend it. There is no other way.

I am currently 67.

"Our Schopenhauer was such a Durerian knight; he was destitute of all hope, but he sought the truth. There is not his equal"

Hope is overrated. What people need to have more than hope is courage.

The Greeks knew all too well the melancholia that comes with life and death.

This inspires me to reread his work. I can't forget to appreciate what a treasure trove of real world philosophical wisdom he is.

Schopenhauer’s pessimism isn’t about despair — it’s about clarity. He strips away the illusions and forces us to confront life as it truly is. In a strange way, that honesty is liberating. Sometimes, seeing the darkness is the first step to living more consciously.

Schopenhauer definitely had some enlightened messages. Quite deeply profound. Yet he definitely was underrated by a lot of people. Probably because of his views of the world. What he did get right though is the world is a ouroboros essentially.

This Youtube channel is like a fountain of knowledge and whoever runs this project does it greatly.

I made a mistake ignoring your content back in the day. It is indeed, more informative than most the things I saw on the internet.

_"Schopenhauer was right, wouldn't you say? "Life without pain has no meaning, " Gentlemen, I wish to give your lives... Meaning."_

These videos seem under appreciated. I think they are great.

Reality is groundless, it seems that it can be whatever you want it to be, you can see it as either hell or heaven depending on your perspective, but in the end its all just a perspective. We know nothing all we have is beliefs when it comes to existential questions

Profound. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Ironically, before seeing this video, I messaged a friend today that because of my health condition, it feels like I’ve been thrown into a cage of (egoic) purification. 🧘 I’ve been forced into such extreme asceticism for 3 years now that I no longer feel human.
