Hey just a heads up, for those of you that can pick up a diaphragm call and use it with no instructions, you should try your hand at playing the blues harmonica.

I got decent at turkey alling as a teen. I just got your green call for my first elk season. Boy oh boy there is not as much overlap as I'd hoped. It took about half of a 4 hour drive to stop sounding like a mammalian chicken, then another hour to not sound like a 500 pound bird.

You may not believe this, but you have no idea what you have just described!! I mean that in a positive way, because I've been playing trumpet for 56 years, and the hiss that you describe, is EXACTLY how we position our tongue to play in the extreme upper register… A.k.a. really high notes!! It's the same way....to play higher you push your tongue up against your roof your mouth harder so you have to blow harder to get those notes, and it produces a venturi effect, thereby causing the air steam to travel at a much faster speed!! Isn't that something!!!

I watched this because I wanted to hunt elk one day. They're marvelous animals with a big meat yield. However, what I wasn't ready for was the inhale where I swallowed the piece in my mouth. Got another one, great video, very informative

Great video and informative. I got one from my kids for Father’s Day. They are dying with laughter as I’m trying to figure it out!

Hands down the most detailed video I've seen on how to use a diaphragm call. Not sure where I'd be in my hunting knowledge without Corey. I'm a software engineer and really appreciate the detailed and thought out step by step progression explained clearly. You can see Corey's past life as an engineer :)

I've never hunted elk or even tried to bugle. But dream to one day. But I have used a turkey diaphram and finally after a few years learned to be half way decent. If there had been a video that was this informative I would have picked it up sooner.

I’m just learning how to reed bugle, and this video is exactly what I needed. Within a few minutes my calls already sound better.

Watched your videos for a week. Bought my diaphragm about an hour ago and the fiancé is flipping his mind how I’ve already been able to get a cow call down.

I've tried for years to make even any sound from elk and turkey diaphragm calls, the second I tried the "hisss" trick, boom it made the perfect sound. Now that was a pro tip!
