The Stage 2 theme from Touhou 18: Unconnected Marketeers

All roads lead to Youkai Mountain it seems.
Whether ZUN intended it or not, this theme definitely evokes Mountain of Faith's style. Although, perhaps it's unfair to keep saying "this theme reminds me of an older game"...

I love the brassy trumpets here, it feels like you're slowly inching forward nervously. Or perhaps dancing along in step? The light, delicate piano certainly makes it feel that way. Maybe the rivers' kappa are watching you, nervously.

this game definitely has had the strongest stage themes for me since ddc, & this was my favorite from the demo. it's a shame that aside from the old trilogy & mof they aren't appreciated as much

We’ve been to the mountain so many times, but Zun crafted us a wonderful theme that gives us the feeling of wonder and anticipation.

Honestly imo one of the best stage 2 themes in the entire series. I’m OBSESSED with this one.

I'm glad you mentioned that this feels MoF style because when I first heard it, it reminded me of a calmer The Gensokyo The Gods Loved. Which is kind of appropriate considering who Takane is and parallels with her kappa counterpart from MoF.

i finally remember what those first 15 seconds remind me of.

it's reminiscent of the pc98 rika's extra boss theme. also the very first seconds of that 1 as well, just a bit more slower here.

Not saying that it's not beautiful this is an amazing song, but I don't hear it as calm, but rather it sounds like it conveys mischief
